Purpose and Importance of Team Sheets and Sharing Children’s Data in Youth Grassroots Football
In youth grassroots football, team sheets and the sharing of children’s data play a vital role in ensuring the game is safe, fair, and well-organised. These practices are not just administrative—they are essential for safeguarding, accountability, and compliance with league regulations.
Why Team Sheets Matter
Team sheets are used to:
Confirm player eligibility for matches.
Ensure fair play by verifying age groups and team composition.
Track participation and development over the season.
Support safeguarding by ensuring all children are registered and accounted for.
Why Sharing Data Is Important
Sharing basic data (such as name, date of birth, and club affiliation) with the league:
Helps protect children by ensuring only registered and approved players take part.
Allows leagues to monitor welfare and safety, including medical needs or safeguarding concerns.
Ensures compliance with league rules, which are designed to protect all participants.
Parental Consent and Responsibility
If you choose to withdraw parental consent for your child’s data to be shared with the league:
You will be responsible for presenting your child’s information at each league game.
This includes proof of identity, age, and eligibility to play.
This step is necessary to safeguard the game and ensure your child can still participate safely and fairly.
